PAATH Privacy Policy

PAATH is developed as an independent project. This policy explains what PAATH does with your data. The short version: PAATH does not collect, store, or share your personal data. The only thing that can reach the developer is a diagnostic log, and only if you choose to send it.

Data collection

PAATH does not collect any personal data on its own. It has no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. See Diagnostic log below for the one thing you can choose to send.

On-device processing

PAATH runs an Android Auto session on your phone and streams it to a web browser on your local Wi-Fi hotspot, such as your car's built-in browser. This stream stays on the local link between your phone and that browser. It does not pass through any server operated by the developer or by a third party.

PAATH reads only its Bluetooth connection to the car you paired, so it can start and stop automatically. It never scans for Bluetooth devices and does not ask for the location permission.

If you choose to set up the separate Shizuku app, PAATH uses it only on your phone, to turn your hotspot on and off and to allow PAATH to read your hotspot's channel. Nothing from this is sent anywhere.

Diagnostic log

PAATH keeps a diagnostic log on your phone, limited in size. If you choose Share log, PAATH hands the log to the app you pick. The log contains technical details such as your phone model and Android version and the connection's measurements; it names your car only as "car 1" and holds no Bluetooth name or address. It leaves your phone only if you send it.

Network connections

PAATH makes a small number of network requests that do not include your personal data:

It may fetch a security certificate needed for the local browser connection from a certificate provider and a public file host.

The optional donation button opens an external donation page in your browser. If you choose to donate, that page is operated by a third party and is subject to its own privacy policy.

Data sharing

PAATH does not share any data with anyone.

Children

PAATH is a utility for drivers and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
